Ian's diverse skills have allowed him the freedom to easily switch his focus from classical to jazz, from jazz to soul and from soul to classical with ease. For a period of 5 years Ian was principal trombonist with the Huddersfield Philarmonic orchestra and even performed with the Halle brass section at the Free Trade Hall. A dedicated member of The SOUL BROTHERS Band since 1990, in his own words he says… "This high energy and highly visual band creates the best reaction from the audience of any group that I have performed with, and that's what makes all the hard work worthwhile". Tip: Watch out for Ian's hand jive during the band's performance of "Stand By Me"… It's the best!

Ian
is a classically trained quality musician who has learnt from the best
from a very early age starting with piano at the age of 8 and quickly
picking up trombone at the age of 11. Ian is a fully qualified
musical educator and spends most of his days devoting his coaching skills
to up and coming young musicians.
